Grampians (Gariwerd) lookouts & waterfalls

Full day · ~13 hours

A national-park day in the rugged west. We drive you to Halls Gap in the heart of the Grampians, take in the headline lookouts — Reed Lookout and the Balconies, Boroka — and MacKenzie Falls, with the option of the Pinnacle walk for those up for it. Wildlife is everywhere here; kangaroos and emus around Halls Gap are a near-certainty. It's a long drive each way, so we start early.

Common questions

Good to know.

How much walking is involved?
Your call. Reed Lookout and Boroka are short, near step-free strolls. The Pinnacle and the MacKenzie Falls base are real hikes — we'll skip those if the group prefers the easy lookouts.
Will we definitely see kangaroos?
Around Halls Gap, almost certainly — they graze the recreation reserve and roadsides late afternoon. Emus are common too. Wildlife is wild, so never 100%, but it's about as reliable as it gets.
Can we make it an overnight trip?
Yes — two days lets you do the bigger walks without the long same-day return. We quote multi-day on request.
